The Bridge Inn, Grinton, Richmond, North Yorkshire DL11 6HH. Tel 01748 884224 Fax: 01748 884044; email; atkinbridge@btinternet.com; www.bridgeinngrinton.co.uk This is the dog friendliest pub we've ever been in, and every visit to the Dales involves several trips to The Bridge for their great food and lovely atmosphere. They also provide dog friendly accommodation with en-suite facilities which we have now sampled and really enjoyed. My favourite pub in all the world. Return to Top For Paignton: The Exeter Inn, 68 High St, Topsham, Devon. EX 0DY. Telephone 01392 873131 Peter & Sharon Crawshaw. Accommodation only, no breakfast, but Topsham offers very nice pubs, bars and restaurants serving great food. At The Passage you can eat lobster in the lovely bar with your dogs lying next to you, or you can sit outside overlooking the estuary. The Exeter Inn offers real ales and fine wines, the welcome is warm and genuine, and at £50.00 per night (in August 2009) for a double room, with no extra charge for your dogs, it is a real bargain. Just a couple of miles from the Showground. Peter and Sharon have a friend called Derek who runs a B&B with 5 acres of land. He just needs to be persuaded to take dogs in the kennels he is planning to offer. Return to Top For Bournemouth: The Fountain Inn, The Street, Whiteparish, Salisbury. Telephone 01794 884266 Ted & Val Clarke. Breakfast available at weekends. Lunch and evening menus, dogs allowed in bar where you can have great food. The Fountain Inn offers real ales, fine wines and food and the accommodation has been refurbished to a high standard, offering ensuite facilities. In August 2009 the price of a double room with cooked breakfast was £60.00 per night with no extra charge for two large dogs who were welcomed on arrival with treats and bowls of water. Large car park at rear and sunny garden. Whiteparish is within easy travelling distance of the showground. Next door to the Fountain Inn is the Kings Head which also offers food and a large garden with some amazing wire sculptures created by the landlady.

For Welsh Kennel Club: Caer Beris Manor, Builth Wells, Powys, Wales. LD2 3NP Tel 01982 552601. email caerberis@btconnect.com www.caerberis.com 3 star hotel set in 27 acres of the most beautiful parkland, with fabulous river walks just minutes away from spacious rooms. The food is wonderful, breakfasts are vast and available from 8am. All within 2 miles of the showground. Very dog friendly - £5.00 per night per room for dogs. Very popular with many different breeds of hounds staying. Just lovely. Obviously more expensive than a pub, but we celebrated our wedding anniversary here as well so felt it was well justified.

The Lake Country House and Spa, Llangammarch Wells, Powys, Wales. LD4 4BS Tel 01591 620202 www.lakecountryhouse.co.uk 4 star hotel set in 50 acres of the most beautiful parkland, with fabulous river walks, swimming pool, tennis courts just minutes away from spacious suites. We had the most fabulous suite - bedroom, sitting room and stunning bathroom in a building away from the main house. The bill for the suite and 2 breakfasts was £130.00. Dogs were extra. Dinner available if prebooked. All within 10 miles of the showground. Very dog friendly - resident bitch came to greet and escort us on our arrival. Again more expensive than a pub, but the grounds were stunning. We were celebrating the end of unemployment and starting new jobs in the following 2 weeks. Also Coco got his second Welsh championship show BPIB.
